A 41-year-old woman has been arrested in Puthukkudiyiruppu for the possession of counterfeit Rs. 500 currency notes.
The Police said the officers from the Mullaitivu Police had arrested the suspect during a special raid conducted yesterday.
The woman was found to be in possession of 14 counterfeit Rs. 500 notes at the time of her arrest.
The Police said the suspect will be produced before the Mullaitivu Magistrate’s Court today.
Stating that counterfeit currency notes were being circulated in the local market, the Police warned the public to remain vigilant in this regard. (NewsWire)
