The Department of Ayurveda has revoked the temporary licence that was granted for the Covid syrup produced by local Ayurvedic practitioner Dhammika Bandara from Kegalle.
Commissioner of Ayurveda of the Department Dr. Dammikka Abeygunawardena confirmed this during a press conference held today to brief the public on Ayurvedic treatment approved for Covid patients.
Stating that only 14 medicines have been recommended and legalized so far, he said the Covid Syrup by Dhammika Bandara was only given a temporary licence, but it had failed the clinical tests.
Dr. Dammikka Abeygunawardena said, as a result, the temporary licence granted for the Covid syrup has been revoked. (NewsWire)
