A nighttime quarantine curfew has been imposed from today due to the coronavirus spreading as a result of individuals gathering for private parties, State Minister of Finance Ajith Navard Cabraal revealed.
Speaking during a talk show on Ada Derana, he said a number of the private gatherings are reportedly taking place in the night.
The State Minister said, thereby, it has been decided to impose the nighttime curfew in order to prevent people from engaging in private gatherings and encouraging them to stay at home.
He added that it was essential to safeguard oneself during this period, as the transmission rate of the virus has significantly increased.
