Former Minister Mangala Samaraweera, who had contracted the coronavirus, is currently receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a private hospital in Colombo.
Commenting on the matter, Samagi Jana Balawegaya MP Harin Fernando refuted reports being circulated on social media claiming that the opposition politician had passed away.
MP Fernando reiterated that Mangala Samaraweera is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Colombo, adding that Samaraweera himself had spoken to one of his associates this morning.
Meanwhile, Cabinet co-spokesman Minister Dullas Alahapperuma also informed reporters today that Mangala Samaraweera has been admitted to the ICU.
