Panic buying reported in many areas as lockdown announced

Long queues have been reported outside several supermarkets, shortly after the Government announced that an islandwide lockdown will be imposed from tonight.

People are reportedly panic buying essential goods lining up outside supermarkets. 

Large queues have also been reported at several fuel stations across the country.

The islandwide quarantine curfew will come into effect at 10 pm today and will continue until 04 am on the 30th of August in a bid to curtail the spread of the coronavirus. (NewsWire)
