The Ministry of Health has issued the updated quarantine measures for travellers arriving in Sri Lanka during the prevalent COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the guidelines, Sri Lankan citizens do not require to obtain prior approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Civil Aviation Authority to arrive in the country.

The updated guidelines cover quarantine measures, pre-departure PCR tests, vaccination cards, fully vaccinated travellers, procedures to follow on arrival, among other aspects.

Sri Lanka is looking to open up the country for tourism after the current islandwide lockdown is lifted.

The Government had earlier announced that the islandwide quarantine curfew will be in effect till the 1st of October 2021. (NewsWire)
