Minister of Tourism Prasanna Ranatunga yesterday visited an Israeli woman who had been injured after falling into the Ravana Ella waterfall while touring the area recently.

The Minister met the injured Israeli tourist at a private hospital in Colombo where she is receiving treatment for her injuries.

23-year-old Eden Siri from Israel had arrived in Sri Lanka a few weeks ago on holiday and had visited the Ravana Ella waterfall on 15th September.

She had fallen into the waterfall while attempting to climb up the rocks surrounding the waterfall.

The Israeli tourist had been admitted to the Badulla Hospital and had remained in a coma following the accident.

Minister Ranatunga said he was informed of this incident by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).

However, with the intervention of the SLTDA, the Israeli woman was moved to a private hospital in Colombo for further treatment.

The SLTDA had also coordinated to bring down the parents of the Israeli tourist.
