Bribery Commission summons Thirukumar Nadesan

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has appointed a special investigation team to probe into the Sri Lankans who were named in the “Pandora Papers”.

The Bribery Commission said the special investigation team has been appointed on the directive issued by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

The President yesterday instructed the Bribery Commission to conduct an immediate investigation on the Sri Lankans named in the ‘Pandora Papers’ and to submit a report on the probe within a month. 

Former Minister Nirupama Rajapaksa and her husband Thirukumar Nadesan have been named in the ‘Pandora Papers’ that was released by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) for having various accounts/ assets, off-shore.

The Bribery Commission has also issued a summons on Thirukumar Nadesan to appear before the commission tomorrow (08). 

Nadesan has been summoned to record a statement pertaining to the revelations linked to him in the ‘Pandora Papers.’ (NewsWire)
