Businessman files FR over quality of PCR tests

A businessman from Rajagiriya has filed a Fundamental Rights (FR) petition at the Supreme Court over the quality of PCR tests conducted in Sri Lanka.

The petition has been filed over an issue faced with the quality of the PCR tests conducted at a Health Ministry-approved private hospital.

The petitioner has called on the Supreme Court to issue an order for the Health Ministry to conduct a probe into the matter.

The businessman has revealed that a PCR test conducted at the private hospital prior to his departure to Dubai had returned negative.

However, another PCR test conducted at the Laboratory at the Katunayake airport had returned positive, and he had to forgo his overseas visit, he stated in his petition. (NewsWire)
