Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa’s son Rohitha Rajapaksa has denied media reports which claimed that he is set to play a domestic cricket match in order to qualify for Cricket administration.
Statement from Rohitha Rajapaksa
It with a deep sense of dismay that I have seen many credible news organisations mentioning my name and my apparent involvement in getting involved in the Countries cricket administration. Some news sites have also said that I am hoping to play in the upcoming LPL.
I have no intention of getting involved with the cricket administration and neither do I have any intention of playing for the LPL.
If I’m playing any sport I give my 100% and thats only because I love sports. I am currently preparing for the rugby sevens tournament on the 30th and 31st of this month and I am currently playing cricket with our old Thomian team.
I’m very disappointed that I have not been contacted by the media platforms that have published this information and I would like to urge those that carry fake news to be more mindful of the reputation of whome it concerns.
