The Italian Police are looking for a Sri Lankan woman who has been accused of killing her two daughters aged 11 and 3 in the city of Verona.

Italian media reported that the 33-year-old woman was reported missing after the bodies of the two girls were found in a reception house of the Municipality of Verona, in the district of Porto San Pancrazio.

The two girls had been living with their mother in the Italian city of Verona since January after a court granted her custody of the children from their father.

The two children were found dead inside their house by an operator of the cooperative that manages it.

Italian media claimed that the mother seemed to have suffocated the children and killed them.

The children were found dead in their pajamas, wrapped in bedsheets on the bed. (NewsWire)
