The Consular Affairs Division of the Foreign Ministry has requested the public to obtain online appointments to acquire its services.
Issuing a statement, the Foreign Ministry said the online appointments can be obtained through the link: http://consular.mfa.gov.lk/ONLINEBOOKING
The Ministry said this will facilitate applicants to reserve a time slot and obtain services without being in long queues.
The Foreign Ministry further urged the public to visit the Consular Affairs Division for authentication purposes from 7.30 am to 1.30 pm during the working days.
The directives have been issued as the Consular Affairs Division of the Foreign Ministry has received a high number of service seekers to get various certificates/documents authenticated nowadays from different parts of the country.
The division provides services using the full capacity of the officers and certificates/documents are authenticated through the Electronic Documents Attestation System (e-DAS) in its full capacity.
In order to avoid long waiting times in the queues and ease the congregation of the public at the Division, the service seekers have been encouraged to obtain online appointments.
The Ministry further urged the service seekers to visit Regional Offices in Matara, Jaffna, Kandy, Kurunegala, and Trincomalee to obtain consular services.
