Six key decisions taken at Covid control meeting

The Government has taken six (06) key decisions during the meeting of the National Covid Task Force held today. 

The President’s Media Division (PMD) said the meeting was chaired by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

Following are the 06 key decisions taken by the Covid Task Force:

  1. The inter-provincial travel restriction will be lifted at 04 am on 31st October. 
  2. A decision was taken to recommence schools for G.C.E. Ordinary Level and  Advanced Level classes.
  3. Possibility of making it mandatory to carry the Covid vaccine card when entering public places.
  4. Designate more responsibilities for Provincial Health Directors to restore normalcy in the country.
  5. Multiple decisions are to be taken targeting the tourism industry which was identified as the key sector in reviving the economy which has been affected by COVID-19.
  6. The IGP has been instructed to look into organized groups that create unnecessary fear among the public about the COVID-19 vaccine.
