According to the Lankadeepa Newspaper, Owners are unable to clear their containers as a result of a shortage of US Dollars in the country.

Nearly 350 containers with over 10,000 metric tons of imported Sugar are among the uncleared containers.

This has been observed as one of the key reasons for the shortage of imported Sugar currently being reported in Sri Lanka, they said.
