A 21-year-old youth has been killed after being hit by a train while attempting to take a selfie on a railway track in Vavuniya.
The Police said the incident has occurred on the Kallaru Bridge in Settikulam, Vavuniya.
One among the two youths who had been taking a selfie had been struck by a train plying from Mannar to Anuradhapura.
One youth had been struck by the train, while the other had jumped off the bridge, the Police added.
The deceased has been identified as a resident of Murugan, Mannar. (NewsWire)
