A man who had given a note claiming there would be a bomb explosion at the rally held by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) in Colombo yesterday has been arrested by the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD).
The man had reportedly given the note to the security officer deployed at the main entrance of the Opposition party’s office.
Investigations had been launched into the matter, after the Head of security at the SJB’s office had filed a complaint with the Cinnamon Gardens Police on 09th November in this regard.
The IGP has handed over the investigations to the CCD after which the suspect who had given the note had been arrested.
Investigations have revealed that the man is a mentally unstable person and was also found to have several other similar notes in his possession.
The CCD together with the Cinnamon Gardens Police is conducting further investigations into the incident. (NewsWire)
