Motorists have been warned to adhere to road rules as traffic violations can now be detected via the air monitoring system.
The Police together with the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF), are now monitoring traffic congestion covering Colombo City with the use of drones.
While monitoring traffic congestions and clearing them, the Police are also on the lookout for traffic violations.
The air monitoring system is in effect from 07.00 am to 09.00 am and from 04.00 pm- 06.00 pm daily.
Following are the nine areas being monitored via drones:
Dehiwala
Kirulapone
Nelum Pokuna Theatre
Ayurveda Junction
Polgasduwa
Parliament roundabout
Panchikawatte
Maradana
Kelani Bridge
