A 19-year-old female school student has died after setting fire to herself in the washroom of her house in the Galaha area in Kandy last night (16).
The Police said investigations have revealed that the teenager had used a mobile phone in secret and her brother had reprimanded her after seeing an SMS on the mobile phone.
The teenager is reported to have set fire to herself in the washroom thereafter.
The postmortem examination into the death has been conducted at the Kandy General Hospital yesterday (16). (NewsWire)
