The Bakery Owners Association has announced that there will be no control price for any bakery products, including bread.
The Association said the suspension of control price will come into effect from midnight today (21).
It further said that the prices of bakery products will be determined by the supply and demand.
The decision comes after the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) and the Lanka Indian Oil Company (LIOC) announced a hike in fuel prices from today.
The hike in fuel prices results in high costs for the transportation of food items.
As a result, the Bakery Owners Association has removed the control price for all bakery products. (NewsWire)
