The Department of Meteorology has issued a weather advisory for heavy rains for 07 districts.
Issuing a statement, the Department said the advisory is in effect from 12.30 pm today to 09. 00 am tomorrow (04).
The Department said due to the active Northeast monsoon condition, prevailing heavy rains are expected to continue in the Eastern part of the island.
The statement further said that under the influence of this condition, heavy showers above 100 mm can be expected in the Batticaloa, Ampara, Matale, and Polonnaruwa districts and in the Uva Province. (NewsWire)
