The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has taken measures to introduce a new concession plan for consumers who have been issued a red notice for failing to settle their outstanding bills.

A senior official from the CEB said several consumers have been inconvenienced as the CEB has commenced suspending electricity supply to those who have failed to settle their outstanding payments.

Consumers have claimed that they are unable to settle the outstanding bills due to the economic crisis prevalent in the country.

The CEB official said that the people can prevent the electricity supply from being suspended if they pay a portion of both their current and outstanding bill payments together. (NewsWire)
