Sri Lanka’s attempts to revive the tourism industry have seen improvements with the highest number of tourist arrivals for last year being reported in December 2021.
The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) said 89,506 tourist arrivals had been reported in December 2021.
The December arrivals are an increase of 45, 212 arrivals than the 44,294 that was reported in November 2021.
The SLTDA added that a total of 194, 495 tourist arrivals were reported for the year 2021.
Indian leads the tourist arrivals to Sri Lanka with 56,266 arrivals, followed by Russia with 16,894, and the United Kingdom with 16,646. (NewsWire)
