Former Prime Minister’s Secretary Gamini Senarath assumed duties as the Secretary to the President a short while ago.
Gamini Senarath’s appointment comes after former Presidential Secretary P.B. Jayasundera resigned from his position following criticism from senior Cabinet Ministers.
Gamini Senarath is a senior officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service (SLAS) and a close associate of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Meanwhile, Secretary to the Ministry of Irrigation, Anura Dissanayake will assume duties tomorrow (20) replacing Gamini Senarat as the Secretary to the Prime Minister. (NewsWire)
