Co-Cabinet Spokesman Minister Udaya Gammanpila says the Central Bank of Sri Lanka has issued funds to obtain fuel from two (02) vessels docked at the Colombo Port.

The Minister said that fuel stocks sufficient for 8 days will be delivered to the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB).

Meanwhile, the private-owned Kelanitissa power plant has been shut down since 10.30 pm yesterday, the Ceylon Electricity Board Engineers’ Union (CEBEU) said.

Secretary to the Union Dhammika Wimalaratne said that the power plant has been shut since last night due to a lack of fuel. (NewsWire)
