The Police have sought public assistance to apprehend two suspects wanted in connection to the large haul of heroin that was seized from a trawler in December 2021.
Nearly 290 kilos of heroin were seized from a multi-day trawler, while two suspects were also arrested at the time of the incident.
Following interrogations, the two suspects had revealed that two other men were involved in operating the drug racket from within Sri Lanka.
Despite the Police having launched investigations to arrest the two men, they had reportedly fled their areas of residence.
The two suspects are 32-year-old Vithanage Nirash Chanuka Vaidyasekara Weerasinghe from Gonapinuwala and 32-year-old Galmangoda Guruge Dileep Sameera Sandaruwan aka Loku.
