Gas companies ordered to allow return of used defective gas cylinders

Gas companies have been ordered to allow consumers who wish to return used gas cylinders suspected of having defects. 

The directive has been issued by the Chairman of the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA), Retired Major General Shantha Dissanayake.

He further said that the public can file complaints against gas dealers and distributors who refuse to accept used gas cylinders with suspected defects. 

Dissanayake added that the public can file their complaints with the CAA by contacting its hotline 1977. (NewsWire)
