Two deaths have been reported on Friday night (11) and early hours of Saturday (12) due accidents occurred in Ratmalana and Homagama areas.
Police reported that a 33-year-old man died in an accident which occurred near the Belek Kade Junction in Galle Road, Ratmalana on Friday night.
A car driven towards Colombo had collided with a passenger Bus which was parked on the road when the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead after admitting to the Kalubowila teaching Hospital. He was identified as a resident of Colombo 5.
Meanwhile, A pedestrian was reported dead after he was hit by a motorcycle when trying to cross the road on High level Road, Homagama, the police said.
The victim was identified as a 32-year-old Army soldier who was on duty at the Panagoda Army Camp. Police have arrested the motorcyclist and are conducting further investigations.
