Two separate chain snatching incidents have been caught on camera in the Kahathuduwa and Galle areas yesterday.
In the first incident, two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle have snatched a gold chain from a man who was walking on a road close to his house on the Kahathuduwa- Amabalangoda Road.
The victim had fallen to the ground while attempting to fight off the suspects, while the suspects had reportedly threatened him with a sharp object.
The incident had been captured on video by an individual who was nearly 50 meters away from the victim. The Kahathuduwa Police has commenced investigations into the robbery.
In the second incident, two unidentified men on a motorcycle are seen making an inquiry from a woman, during which they snatch her chain and flee the area.
The woman was accompanied by another woman and a child at the time of the incident that had taken place in front of a row of shops in the Akmeemana area in Galle.
