The Archbishop of Colombo, His Eminence Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith says that it cannot be expected that the current government and the Attorney General’s Department will do justice to the victims of easter attack.

He said that the only hope is that justice will be served by a future government.

He also said the current government had made it a joke by protecting and promoting politicians and officials who had not acted to prevent the 2019 easter attacks.

The Cardinal also said that the current government had not fulfilled any of the promises made to him.

He made these remarks while attending a virtual book launch event of a book complied by the National Catholic Communications Commission after reviewing all commission reports related to the Easter attack.

The Archbishop of Colombo further said that even though it has been almost 3 years since the Easter Attacks, justice has not been served as the government and the attorney general have hidden evidence in the report of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the matter.
