A tense situation was reported near the Kantale police station yesterday after 2 busses plying on the same direction collided yesterday (19).
The collusion has occurred after a private bus plying from Trincomalee to Colombo had reportedly blocked the road in a manner that a CTB bus traveling in the same route could not overtake it.
After the incident, the driver and the conductor of the private bus had reportedly attacked the driver of the CTB bus.
Following this, passengers of the CTB bus have got agitated and have started attacking the diver and conductor of the private bus.
To escape from the passengers, the two of them have run inside the Kantale police station, where they were later arrested. The driver of the CTB bus is being treated at the Kantale base hospital. (NewsWire)
