Twenty-three individuals have been hospitalized after being injured in a bus accident in the Koralaima area on the Horana- Colombo Road.
The accident had occurred after a private bus and a bus transporting employees of a garment factory had collided.
The bus with garment factory workers that was travelling from Pathakada to Kahathuduwa is reported to have crashed into the private bus from behind.
The Kahathuduwa Police said measures had been taken to immediately hospitalize the injured garment factory employees.
However, passengers in the private bus have not sustained any injuries in the accident.
Two individuals who had sustained serious injuries in the accident have been admitted to the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital, while the others with minor injuries have been admitted to the Wethara hospital.
The driver of the bus that was transporting garment factory workers has been arrested, while the Kahathuduwa Police is conducting further investigations. (NewsWire)
