Fuel crisis : Relief for diesel vehicle owners

Sri Lanka has made a payment of US$ 31 million to release another fuel tanker, the Minister of Energy announced today.

The Ministry said that the payment was made to a Singaporean Company that owns a fuel tanker that was docked outside the Colombo Port.

Following the payment, Sri Lanka has released an oil tanker that contains 37,300 metric tonnes of diesel, the Ministry said. 

The Ministry of Energy added that the unloading of the diesel will begin soon. (NewsWire)
