The U.S. Ambassador to Sri Lanka Julie Chung met Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa today to discuss the economic challenges faced by Sri Lanka.
In a Twitter message, Julie Chung said the discussion also focussed on ways for the US and Sri Lanka to cooperate to solve the economic issues.
“We all want a Sri Lanka economy that is prosperous, innovative, inclusive, and connected to its neighbors,” she said.
The US Ambassador further highlighted that that was why the US has contributed US$17.9M to Sri Lanka’s post-COVID economic recovery.
