Former Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake and 10 other suspects have been released from the public property charge filed in the second Central Bank bond case.

The suspects were released from the charges by the Colombo High Court trial-at-bar that was appointed to hear the case.

The majority decision of the trial-at-bar said the charges made under the Public Property Act cannot be maintained in the bond case against the suspects.

The 10 suspects named in the case include former Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake, former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran, and the Director of Perpetual Treasuries Limited (PTL) Arjun Aloysius. (NewsWire)
