The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for severe lightning over the next six hours, starting from 03.00 pm today.
The Department said thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning are likely to occur at several places in the Central, North-Central, Eastern, and Uva provinces, and in the Mannar, Vavuniya, and Mullaitivu districts.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers and the public has been requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity. (NewsWire)
