First foreign currency gets to Rs 1000

The Kuwaiti Dinar has become the first currency to surpass the Rs. 1000 mark at some banks in Sri Lanka.

According to the State Bank, the Bank of Ceylon, the Dinar is being sold at Rs. 1001.70 today.

The Rupee has also depreciated against other Middle Eastern currencies. 

The Bahrain Dinar has increased to Rs. 797.33, while the Omani Riyal has increased to Rs. 785.59.

The Qatar Riyal has increased to Rs. 83.98 and the Saudi Riyal has increased to Rs. 84.24.

The United Arab Emirates’ Diram has increased to Rs. 84.87 today. (NewsWire)
