Authorities have decided not to allow spectators for the Sri Lanka Rugby League match between Kandy Sports Club and CH & FC scheduled to be played tomorrow (3rd).

The match was originally scheduled to be played at the Colombo Racecourse grounds. However, it was later decided that the game would be played at the Welisara Navy Grounds.

Though an official reason for the relocation and decision to disallow spectators was not provided, it is believed that this decision was taken anticipating possible public protests tomorrow at the match.

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaka’s youngest son Rohitha Rajapaksa is also expected to play in tomorrow match representing CH & FC.

Rugby fans have taken to Social Media to criticize the move to deprive the fans to witness that match while many have urged Kandy SC to boycott the match.

Kandy Sports club had posted in Facebook that even though spectators will not be allowed for tomorrow’s game, match will be live streamed via Sri Lanka Rugby YouTube channel. (NewsWire)
