President Gotabaya Rajapaksa does not need to resign as he still has the support of the 6.9 million people of Sri Lanka, Minister of Highways Johnston Fernando said today.
Stating that the President does not need to tender his resignation, Minister Fernando said he believes the President still holds the mandate of the people.
Minister Johnston Fernando said an election must be held to prove that the President still holds the public’s support.
The Minister further said that the public protests underway are minor protests, adding that, however, he accepts that the people are facing a crisis. (NewsWire)
