Govt says no shortage of medicines, contradicts doctors’ appeals

The Government has refuted reports of a shortage of essential medicines and consumables at several state hospitals in Sri Lanka.

Stating that several reports on the shortage of medicines and consumables have been circulated on social media, the Government Information Department issued a statement refuting the reports.

In the statement, the Department pointed out that state hospitals were in stock of the essential medicines and consumables.

The Government Information Department further issued an inventory of the essential medicines and consumables that are currently in stock at state hospitals, especially in the Western Province. (NewsWire)
