An individual who had destroyed private and public property with the use of a weapon similar to a firearm, and marble and metal pellets has been arrested by the Police.
Investigations have revealed that the man had damaged 09 institutions in and around Piliyandala, including a private bank, a financial institution, a spa, a preschool, and two vehicles, including a bus.
Officers from the Mount Lavinia Criminal Investigations Department had arrested the suspect from the Dampe area.
The Police have also seized the weapon, various pellets and vehicle that was used to carry out the attacks.
CCTV footage has been captured at several locations at which the suspect had destroyed the properties along with another individual, while inside a luxury vehicle.
The suspect has been identified as a 34-year-old man who conducts an online business.
The Police said interrogations have revealed that the suspect had acted together with his friend from the Piliyandala area to show their objection to the Government. (NewsWire)
