Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has expressed his distress over the tragedy that occurred in Rambukkana yesterday.
One person was killed and many more were injured after the Police had opened fire to disperse the public who were protesting demanding fuel.
Issuing a statement on Twitter, the Prime Minister said he was deeply distressed following the tragedy in Rambukkana.
Rajapaksa said that he was confident that a strict, impartial investigation will be carried out by the Sri Lanka Police who have always served the country with the utmost honor.
