Sri Lanka women’s 400m hurdles champion Kaushalya Madhushani has passed away.
Police suspect that the 26 year old has died by suicide in her house in Dummalasuriya.
Police are conducting further investigations.
Kaushalya won the Glucolin Challenge Trophy for best hurdler yesterday at the 100th National Athletics Championship 2022 at Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium – Diyagama.
She won the 400m hurdles with a time of 58.37 seconds at the championship. The 26 year old ,was a member of Sri Lanka Gold medal winning 4x400m relay team in 2019 South Asian Games in Kathmandu while also secured Silver medal in 400m hurdles. (NewsWire)
