“Don’t be afraid, I will not resign” – PM

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has assured representatives of the Provincial Council Group that he will not step down from his post. 

The Prime Minister further said he believes the current national crisis can be resolved in a short period of time.

Prime Minister Rajapaksa made the observation during a meeting with the representatives of the Provincial Council Group at Temple Trees today. 

Representatives of the Provincial Council Group had handed over a proposal, stating that Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and the Government do not require to step down. 

During the meeting, the representatives of the Provincial Council Group also decided to relay their proposal to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. 

The representatives pointed out that it was essential for the Prime Minister to remain in his post to resolve the existing economic crisis in Sri Lanka in the future. (NewsWire)
