A tense situation arose at the ‘Occupy Galle Face’ public protest at the Galle Face Green in Colombo after riot Police were deployed in trucks to the site today.
A truck with riot Police had entered the protest ground on the main road where they were confronted by the public who were engaged in peaceful protests.
Another truck with riot Police had been deployed near the car park area of the protest site which was also confronted by the public.
Both trucks were later forced to withdraw after the public confronted them and questioned the purpose of their arrival at a peaceful protest. (NewsWire)
