The Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court has rejected a request seeking an order to prevent protests to be held near the Parliament this week
A request had been made to prevent the protests that have been planned for tomorrow (05) and Friday (06) near the Parliament.
The request for a prevention order had been submitted to the court by the Thalangama Police.
12 protesters were arrested by the Police while engaging in a peaceful demonstration in front of the Parliament entry road today.
The Police said the arrests had been made as the protesters were blocking the Parliament entry road near the Polduwa Junction. (NewsWire)
