The Office of the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff says legal action will be initiated against Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake over recent allegations levelled against the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff Yoshitha Rajapaksa.

Issuing a statement, the Office of the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff refuted the allegations raised against Yoshitha Rajapaksa, claiming the allegations were false.

The statement comes in response to JVP MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s revelations on major corruption in the last two decades in Sri Lanka, in which Yoshitha Rajapaksa was among those named.

During a special media briefing held yesterday, the JVP leader produced a document with details of a plot of land owned by Yoshitha Rajapaksa.

Stating that the document contained false information, the Office of the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff said legal action will be initiated against MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake for spreading false news and causing inconvenience to Yoshitha Rajapaksa. (NewsWire)
