Two students from a school in Panadura have been arrested for allegedly setting fire to their principal’s office and computer room yesterday.

The Police said the fire had broken out at a school in the Keselwatte area in Panadura North.

CCTV footage had shown that two students from the school, aged 12 and 07,  had set fire to the two rooms.

Investigations have revealed that the students had acted in that manner as revenge for being punished by the principal over some wrongdoing.

The Police said the damage to the school properties is yet to be ascertained.

The two students arrested over the incident will be produced before the Panadura Magistrate’s Court today.

The Panadura North Police is conducting further investigations into the incident. (NewsWire)
