Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) supporters of Mahinda Rajapaksa attacked peaceful anti-government protesters in Colombo causing widespread unrest across the country.

Even though Mahinda Rajapaksa tendered his resignation from the post of Prime Minister following the incident, it triggered unrest among the public, causing them to lash out at SLPP politicos, the Police, and those linked to the government. (NewsWire)
