The Meteorology Department has issued a weather advisory for heavy rains for 09 districts until 02.00 pm tomorrow (14).
The department said the showery condition is expected to continue further over the south-western part, especially Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Central provinces and in Galle and Matara districts of the island.
The wind speed over the Northern and North-Western provinces and in the Hambantota district can increase and is likely to enhance.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and North-western provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts.
Heavy showers above 100 mm can occur at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Central provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts.
The department added that the wind speed can increase up to (40-50) kmph at times over the Western slope of the Central hills, Northern, North-central, and North-western provinces, and in the Hambantota district. (NewsWire)
