The Beginning 

CavinKare began with the innovative entrepreneur C.K. Ranganathan choosing the road less taken. It was in 1983, with a single product, that CavinKare emerged, starting out as a small partnership firm. Eventually, in 1998, the company that began its journey as Chik India Ltd was renamed CavinKare Pvt. Ltd (CKPL), emerging quickly into a successful business enterprise.

Today, CavinKare is one of the top FMCG companies of India, earning rightful success in the beauty and wellbeing segments. From beginning purely as a Personal Care player to transforming into a conglomerate with expertise in dairy, snacks, food, beverages, professional care, and the salon business, CavinKare has become a household name with 21 brands containing a wide range of products in the aforementioned categories and a strong sales network.

Journey of CavinKare Lanka 

In continuation of its local and international success, CavinKare began operations in Sri Lanka, and established its own factory in the country in 2008. The portfolio comprises of five brands in Sri Lanka, namely Indica, Meera, Nyle, Chik and Fairever. These brands operate across various personal care categories such as hair care, hair colour and skin care.

In January 2022, a facewash range was launched under the brand Meera, to celebrate the young and contemporary Sri Lankan woman. Meera facewash is available in three different variants providing functional solutions to everyday skin care problems – Red Sandal (for soft skin), Neem & Tea Tree (for pimple clear skin) and Wild Turmeric (for clear skin).

In the hair colour category, Indica Easy is a revolutionary offering which comes as a liquid-based product that is easy to apply. It is a very convenient Do-It-Yourself format that works in just 10 minutes, has the goodness of 5 natural herbs and no ammonia. With its differentiated proposition, Indica Easy already occupies a significant position in the Indian market and expects to grow this successful innovation in Sri Lanka too.

A dedicated Research & Development center, equipped with latest equipment and technologies, constantly supports the various divisions in CavinKare’s endeavors. The R&D teams work relentlessly to bring products of the highest quality and innovation.
